Troubleshooting the most common issues with the supported printers (wireless/wired)

There are number of issues that might arise that cause the printer to stop printing. Before getting into the common issues you might first want to make sure you have the printing option enabled in the Branch settings:

if you have the Advanced mode enable you will find these setting under Queues settings:

Common Issues:

Wireless Printers 

  1. No Power: The printer might stop printing because the power is out, you might want to check that the printer is connected to power.

  2. Check the bluetooth connectivity  
    From the tablet, go to Settings> Bluetooth, make sure bluetooth is enabled and paired with Star Micronics

  3. If the printer is not connected to bluetooth.

  • Enable the bluetooth from Settings > Bluetooth

  • Select Star Micronics to pair with it, if it is not showing or unable to pair, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the printer till it flashes in green, 

  • Now from the tablet try to re-connect by selecting Star Micronics from settings > Bluetooth.

  • After it is connected restart the branch application.

No Power: The printer might stop printing because the power is out, you might want to check that the printer is connected to power.

3. If tablet is showing connected to the bluetooth but still not printing, from the printer press and hold the pairing button on the back  of the printer till it flashes in green, and now from the tablet settings > Bluetooth try to connect to the printer through bluetooth again.

Wired Printers 

  1. No Power: The printer might stop printing because the power is out, you might want to check that the printer is connected to power.

  2. Lose or Defect Cable:  The wired printer connects to your tablet by either lighting cable if you are using and iOS tablet or a USB cable if you are using an Android tablet. The issue might be caused by defect or lose cable.
